Students keep Tilburg fresh and alive!

Students keep Tilburg fresh and alive!

Tilburg is a true university city. More than 30,000 young people study at the city's many and various educational institutes, most of which provide higher education. All those thousands of students give the city colour. They keep Tilburg fresh and alive!

The University of Tilburg (UvT) is known throughout the world and has given Tilburg an international reputation in the field of education. The law and economics faculties are among the best in the country. Other important educational institutes are the ROC Tilburg, De Rooi Pannen, Avans Hogeschool and Fontys.

Education in Tilburg shows that the city is constantly rejuvenating itself. It is no coincidence that surprising courses of study such as Leisure-Time Management, the Rock Academy and Sports Economics originated in Tilburg. The rejuvenation of education reinforces the city's drive. OMO (Ons Middelbaar Onderwijs) is just one such innovating institute. In 2005, OMO introduced a new form of secondary education which is unique in the Netherlands: 'the Newest School'.

The municipality of Tilburg prioritizes investment in education. It focuses particularly on increasing the number of student accommodation units, creating more trainee posts and jobs, and facilitating transfers to other educational institutes.
