Team The Netherlands will prepare extensively for the upcoming IIHF World Championship, including warm-up games against Great Britain.
The tournament organisation is an unprecedented cooperation between the Dutch Ice Hockey Federation (NIJB) and Tilburg city council. Under the title Tour to Tilburg the national team of the Netherlands will likely play warm-up games against Belgium, France and Great Britain. Another option is an all star game between foreign professional hockey players in the Dutch league and the national team.
‘Tour to Tilburg, the name says it all. The matches will take place at several rinks around the country. Only the final game shortly before the start of the tournament will certainly be played in Tilburg.’ That city will also host a match between Team France and Team Austria. A string of activities around league games and in Tilburg city must prepare ice hockey fans in The Netherlands for this exciting tournament.
