About the rink:
The new Stappegoor arena in Tilburg breathes sport. The Tilburg Ice Sports Centre is one of the best sports locations and will be the scene of action for the 2010 IIHF World Championship. This is the home base of The Netherlands most successful ice hockey club: Tilburg Trappers. This is an additional reason why ice hockey and Tilburg are so closely bound. The Tilburg Ice Sports Centre has been provided with all amenities and the space accommodates no less than 2575 spectators in total.
Bordering the Tilburg Ice Sports Center is T-kwadraat; this new sports centre also has international allure. With a fantastic hall, fitness room, a climbing hall, a sports medical centre, catering facilities and business accommodation, T-kwadraat offers good service. The Ireen Wüst Ice Rink also forms part of T-kwadraat. This 400-metre ice rink, named after the successful long track speedskater from Tilburg, also has a 30 x 60 metre ice floor, which creates a perfect training facility for the participants in the Ice Hockey World Championship. Nieuw Stappegoor in Tilburg is one of the finest sports facilities, where sports people, top-class sportsmen and women and organisers of top sporting events feel perfectly at home.
